La Haine

It seems crazy you can’t buy a release of this film with French subtitles. I have the BFI 4k and a blu ray edition. I tried to find a disc with French subs but it doesn’t seem to exist, so I downloaded it and used community-created subs. I have a French oral exam on this film in less than two weeks. This is the sixth time I’ve seen the film, and I think I appreciate it now more than ever. The fifth viewing a few days ago was mostly me pausing and taking notes throughout, trying to gather my thoughts. This viewing was the first with French subs. I think I’d really struggle without subs at all still. I get the verlan now too, and much prefer the literal translation in general. Excuse the incoherent review.
