John Wick

I mentioned I might buy the 4k disc in my previous review of the blu ray; well that’s what I watched tonight. Now I’m not sure whether the 4k-ness added to my enjoyment of the film tonight, or whether just the second viewing added to my appreciation of just how good this film is. I mentioned it in my first review, but it bears repeating; the style in this movie is so fucking cool, it makes a nonsense of the idea of style over substance; it absolutely is substance! The soundtrack is awesome. The use of lighting and colour is just amazing. The nightclub scene is absolutely peak. Unbelievably I tried watching this film about 10 years ago and thought it was crap. I figure my tastes have changed somewhat.
